For more information click on our E-Verify Website. Incumbents in Regulatory Specialist II positions, which are office-based, will make an immediate and meaningful impact in the lives of Floridians. They perform duties that guarantee qualified health care professionals can work in the state and provide all Floridians with access to the health care they need to lead healthier lives. By increasing the number of licensed health care professionals in the state, incumbents also support those currently working in health care professions who are so critical in our current and any future public health emergency. Your Specific Responsibilities

The incumbent will serve as the Team Lead for the Board of Medicine and reports to and assists the Regulatory Supervisor in performing Team Lead duties and tasks. The incumbent in this position will perform professional and regulatory activities for the Board of Medicine. The employee will exercise independent judgment and initiative in carrying out assignments to completion. The work is performed under the supervision of a Regulatory Supervisor and is reviewed for accuracy and completion by periodic review of work products and day‑to‑day observation of the employee’s work habits. During the presence and in the absence of the Regulatory Supervisor, the team lead will conduct error reporting, train incoming team members, and execute quality control activities for the board office. The Team Lead will also review initial and/or renewal applications to determine eligibility for registration or licensure; evaluate their qualifications and licensure criteria in accordance with the laws and rules. Respond to telephonic and written inquiries concerning licensure requirements that require in‑depth knowledge of the laws and rules and the ability to clearly communicate this information to the public verbally and in writing. Maintain the filing system for the professions, including applications, correspondence, requirements for other states, and general files. Perform other related work including the processing of other unit profession applications as required to maintain an efficient office that responds promptly to the needs of the licensees, applicants, the legislature, and other areas of the Department and to the public. Independently review and evaluate transcripts, degrees, and other educational materials of individuals trained in the United States or foreign countries to determine eligibility for certification and licensure in a specific profession in accordance with Florida statutory and Board requirements. Enter and maintain accurate data and upload documentation on licensees and the status of initial and/or renewal applications and licensure in relevant electronic databases. Respond directly and in a timely fashion via writing, online chat, or over the phone to public inquiries on licensure status, deficiencies, and requirements; relevant statutes or applicable board rules; and technical issues regarding the licensure process. Conduct research into educational materials, Florida Statutes, Board rules, and other relevant items to make decisions on whether individuals meet the accreditation standards for the requested license or certification. Establish and maintain a paper and/or electronic filing system of all documentation and communication received from those applying for licensure in assigned profession(s). Support supervisors by preparing agenda materials for Board/Committee meetings and attending said meetings when needed. Summarize and prepare initial and/or renewal application files and supporting documentation for review by Board members. Perform other related work as required to maintain an efficient office that responds promptly to the needs of licensees, applicants, consumers, the legislature, and other areas of the Department, including training new employees and assisting with office phone coverage. Run reports daily to ensure the office is performing efficiently and meeting statutory deadlines. Review other team members’ work for accuracy. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to learn, understand, and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies, and procedures for licensing. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work activities to meet strict deadlines. Ability to concentrate, provide great attention to detail, and maintain a pre‑approved work schedule. Ability to work independently and establish and maintain dependable, effective working relationships with others. Ability to learn and utilize job‑specific software such as LEIDS and AxiomPro and office equipment such as phones, fax machines, scanners, and copiers. Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office software and in using Windows‑based computers. Qualifications

Preference will be given to those who meet the following minimum requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years’ experience that includes data entry, document preparation, computer software use, evaluating legal documents or evaluating for compliance with regulations, customer service, or handling sensitive information. Our office is located in the Southwood area of Tallahassee in the Capital Circle Office Complex at 4042 Bald Cypress Way. This is a fully on‑site position based in Tallahassee.
