Compliance Specialist
for our programs in San Francisco County.
About The Role:
Under general supervision of the Housing Compliance Manager, the
Compliance Specialist
provides comprehensive support with documentation for Abode’s emergency relief funding program in San Francisco. The Compliance Specialist is expected to be familiar with program requirements and assist internal and external stakeholders with adhering to procedures and ensuring requests are carried out in a timely manner. The incumbent will be the primary contact for emergency relief fund applications and coordination of document delivery to various partner agencies in San Francisco.

How You Make An Impact :
Serves as the primary liaison between partner agencies involved in emergency relief funding requests and Abode Services.
Reviews incoming funding applications and supporting documentation for compliance.
Works with agency partners to request additional documentation as needed and resolve any discrepancies regarding funding disbursements.
Coordinates with internal and external partners to ensure funding requests are processed on time.
Works closely with Finance Department to coordinate participant payments.
Regularly monitor county and program databases to update program and participant service transactions.
Prepare monthly reconciliation reports regarding funding disbursements for auditing purposes.
Other duties as assigned.
How You Meet Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree preferred in social work, public policy, or a related field. Professional experience track record can be substituted for a degree.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft systems and Salesforce preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience in comparable work.
Knowledge of San Francisco housing market and geography preferred.
Excellent written, oral, and business communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Proven ability to work independently and/or with remote teams via technology.
COMPETENCIES:
Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to work well independently and collaboratively with teams.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local fair housing laws.
Professional experience in the human services, social work, psychology, or related field and demonstrated experience in rental housing programs for low income, special needs individuals and families.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, systems, and platforms.
Ability to learn and use required mobile devices and business-related applications.
Outstanding communication skills and high degree of emotional intelligence, cultural humility, with a proven track record to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts.
WORK CONDITIONS / ENVIRONMENT:
Position Classification: This position is classified as on‑site. This means you are expected to perform your work at an Abode-approved office or worksite.
Remote Work Option: Voluntary telecommuting may be permitted at management’s discretion. Such arrangements may be approved on a case‑by‑case basis and can be revoked at any time. If telework is approved, you will not receive a remote work stipend.
Must be able to work in a shared office environment with moderate to high noise level with frequent contact and interruption.
Multi‑level buildings with stairs and/or ramps.
Frequent travel by car throughout the county region and surrounding areas.
Work in program service environments, which may include entering program offices, non‑agency offices and meeting areas.
