About the Role: The Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that the organization adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, particularly within the mortgage and credit reporting sectors. This position involves conducting thorough compliance monitoring and risk assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability and implement corrective actions. The specialist will interpret complex data and regulatory requirements to maintain up-to-date compliance frameworks that protect the company from legal and financial risks. By performing due diligence and maintaining meticulous records, the Compliance Specialist supports transparent and ethical business practices. Ultimately, this role safeguards the organization's reputation and operational integrity by fostering a culture of compliance and accountability across all departments.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field.

At least 3 years of experience in compliance monitoring, or risk assessment within the healthcare or social assistance industry.

Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations such as HIPPA, and relevant state laws.

Proven ability to interpret complex data and generate comprehensive reports.

Excellent organizational and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in Compliance (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional - CCEP) or related credentials.

Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and compliance software tools.

Advanced training in risk management or healthcare law.

Demonstrated ability to lead compliance training initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Clients Rights Officer

Oversight of CARF Compliance.

Liaison with ODBH (Ohio Department of Behavioral Health), CARF and ADAMHS.

Oversight of all agency plans and committees.

Assures all agency policies are compliant and up to date with all regulator agencies.

Report compliance status and issues to senior management and regulatory bodies as required.

Skills: The Compliance Specialist utilizes compliance monitoring skills daily to ensure all organizational activities meet regulatory standards, reducing legal and financial risks. Being well organized allows the specialist to manage multiple compliance projects and maintain detailed records efficiently. Interpreting data is essential for identifying compliance trends and potential issues, enabling proactive risk assessment and mitigation. Multitasking abilities are critical as the specialist balances audits, reporting, training, and collaboration with various departments to maintain a robust compliance program.
