About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission of building grassroots power for social and economic justice. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the organization, including administration, fundraising, financial management, staff supervision, and external relations. This role requires a deep understanding of grassroots member organizing, leadership development, and a strong commitment to social and racial justice. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff, and community members to ensure the organization's goals are met and that its values of justice, respect, and integrity are upheld.
Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a minimum of 5 years' management experience, with a proven track record in organizational administration, staff management, and fundraising. Essential knowledge and abilities include excellent management skills, experience in budget development and management, and a strategic approach to fundraising. The role also demands a collaborative approach, the ability to build consensus, and a commitment to working with the staff union. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the political landscape in Los Angeles, experience in policy change, and a background in social, economic, and labor justice movements. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, and a Master's degree is a plus.
