This position is with our Adhesive Technologies business unit – where we empower our people to transform industries and provide our customers with a competitive advantage through adhesives, sealants and functional coatings.

What you’ll do

The Sales Engineer is a professional sales position, based remotely, responsible for growing, managing and servicing surface treatment customers in Coil and General Industry.

Provides input to Manager on customer needs, business trends, competitive situations in territory.

Executes pricing actions and coordinates with application engineering to conduct line trials/re solve customer requests and complaints.

Executes customer roadmap and manages/ closes respective CRM tool (ACE) growth opportunities.

Delivers KP OSG and PC % in territory / at defined accounts.

Executes local sales plans (short, mid, long term) in line with SBU strategy to maintain and develop existing / acquire new customers.

Builds and maintains relationships with customers and distributors.

Steers and drives regional execution of sales and channel excellence roadmap.

Drives and manages regional implementation of framework, policy and channel strategy development.

Drives strategic projects on sales and channel excellence (e.g. ACE) in the region.

Drives global / regional / local implementation of eCommerce strategy.

Enforces channel discipline according to channel growth and development targets regionally.

Determines greatest underexploited channel growth opportunities for the region.

Aligns with global sales and channel excellence for regional roll-outs and with counterparts of other SBUs especially for shared.

Cooperates with pricing team and ensures continuous regional price alignment.

Sponsors or manages distribution key accounts at global / regional / local level.

Continuously evaluates existing and possible channel partners pro-actively maintains understanding of market developments and relevant product knowledge.

Travels regularly in market to support understanding.

Critically reviews success of launches, promotions and activities to ensure continual improvement of materials & targeting.

What makes you a good fit

BS/BA in Business, Chemistry, Engineering or related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.

5+ years of relevant technical sales, strategic account responsibility, laboratory or manufacturing experience (preferably in metal finishing) and a progressive record of self-starting results.

Ability to travel regionally, up to 50%, depending on location of home-based office.

The territory for this position will include the Greater Los Angeles area with the plan to expand into both Arizona and Colorado.

Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship building skills.

Strong disciplined self-starter willing to continue learning while developing the pipeline in the territory and maintaining existing customers.

The salary for this role is $95,000.00 - $125,000.00.
