Executive Pastor/Director: Core Role Summary The Executive Pastor/Director brings a shepherd’s heart and an executive’s mind, serving as the chief integrator of vision and operations at Exilic. Reporting to and partnering closely with the Senior Pastor, this role ensures alignment around mission, invests in staff care and coaching, and develops effective systems and strategies across all church ministries.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Organizational Development
Report to and partner with the Senior Pastor to implement church-wide strategy, calendaring, and ministry planning.
Lead annual goal-setting and evaluation processes for staff and key ministries.
Serve as chief integrator across departments to ensure mission alignment, execution, and accountability.
Attend session meetings once per month along with the formation of the agenda.
Attend diaconate meetings once per month for oversight and care.
Staff Oversight and Culture Development
Supervise and develop church staff, ensuring clarity of roles, performance expectations, and growth pathways.
Facilitate healthy team culture through quarterly one-on-one staff meetings, check-ins, coaching, and organized fellowship and team bonding.
Implement a system for performance reviews, goal tracking, and accountability.
Human Resources
Manage HR functions, including hiring, onboarding, compensation alignment, release/termination, and conflict resolution.
Develop Exilic’s current employee handbook.
Advise all staff members on the proper implementation of all policies and procedures.
Develop and manage the church’s budget in alignment with strategic priorities.
Pastoral Duties
Support the pastoral team with presiding, teaching, counseling, and weddings (as appropriate).
A Shepherd’s heart with an Executive’s mind.
Proven leadership experience (8-10+ years) in church, nonprofit, or organizational settings—especially in team, systems, or executive roles.
Demonstrated strength in strategic planning, organizational development, staff leadership, and operational acumen at a high level.
Skilled in interpersonal communication, change leadership, and conflict resolution.
Work Environment & Schedule
This is a full-time, salaried position with on-site responsibilities during weekdays and Sundays.
Occasional evening or weekend meetings and events required.
Salary Range
The estimated salary range for this position is $130,000 to $165,000. Please note that the actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
