About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Development to provide leadership and strategic direction to a team of fundraising professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for securing annual, leadership annual, and major gifts, with a focus on building and maintaining a portfolio of approximately 150 major gift and leadership annual gift prospects. This role involves devising individual engagement strategies for each prospect, soliciting gifts at the $100,000+ level, and developing campaign strategies for the station's capital and endowment needs. The Executive Director will also be a key member of the senior management and development leadership teams, and will be expected to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 7 years of professional fundraising experience, including a proven track record in major gift solicitations, and at least 3 years of supervisory experience. The role requires strong communication, organizational, and project management skills, as well as the ability to provide strategic direction and leadership to fundraising teams. Proficiency in Google and Microsoft suites, CRM, and other relevant office applications is essential. Experience in fundraising for public radio and/or cultural organizations is preferred. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a passion for philanthropy and a commitment to the mission of the organization.
