Work within and lead teams engaged in a broad range of M&A and business development initiatives. In addition to acquiring operating plants, the company buys late-stage development assets nearing construction, recontracts older assets, restructures, and invests in upgrades/expansions.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
Support or lead M&A and business development initiatives, as well as related corporate goals
Acquire generating assets that satisfy company and fund investment criteria
Negotiate and execute transactions, lead due diligence initiatives
Prepare and present detailed investment recommendations to the senior leadership team as well as the investment committee and the Board
Mentor, guide and develop in-house M&A and business development staff
Maintain strong relationships with counterparties, partners, EPCs, bankers, suppliers and other service providers
Stay current on the key market trends and regulations which may impact investment decisions
Engage with relevant industry, professional and governmental organizations
Participate in and contribute to the corporate planning process including development of strategic plans
Six years’ experience in power M&A or business development including early career assignments in detailed financial modeling
Recent experience in transaction negotiation, due diligence, and legal document functions
Experience with renewables, storage or natural gas transactions
Experience on teams that have successfully closed generation transactions
Experience working for IPPs, developers, private equity or infrastructure investors (or their platform companies), investment banks or advisory firms
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Advanced multi-tasking capabilities, organizational skills, flexibility and attention to detail
Exceptional work ethic with team first mentality
THE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to accomplish physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, and close and distance vision capability.
Ability to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
