$160,000-$170,000 annually + 20% bonus

Job Description We are seeking a Corporate Accounting Director to oversee corporate-level accounting operations for a growing, private‑equity‑backed organization. This role will be responsible for financial close, technical accounting, tax oversight, internal controls, and external audit coordination while driving process improvements to support continued growth. The ideal candidate brings strong GAAP expertise, M&A experience, and a hands‑on leadership approach in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead monthly and year‑end close processes for corporate entities
Review and ensure accuracy of general ledger reconciliations and internal controls
Partner with FP&A and business controllership teams to provide insight into financial performance and strategy
Establish, document, and enforce accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP
Oversee annual audits and corporate tax filings in collaboration with senior accounting leadership
Lead purchase accounting and technical accounting related to mergers and acquisitions
Manage tax compliance, including sales tax, income tax, and regulatory filings
Prepare annual financial statements and disclosures, including footnotes
Ensure compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements
Evaluate and strengthen internal control frameworks and accounting processes
Stay current on accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry best practices
Hire, develop, and mentor accounting staff while providing performance management and feedback
Lead special projects and initiatives to support executive decision‑making
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
Deep expertise in GAAP and purchase accounting for M&A transactions
Prior experience in a private‑equity‑backed environment
Proficiency with ERP and accounting systems (EPM, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar)
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting trade‑based businesses (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or similar industries)
