Supervisor Reports directly to the pastor; generally accountable to the Personnel Committee and Sunday School Director
Purpose Lead and disciple youth (grades 6–12) through weekly biblical teaching, ministry events, while developing relationships. Support the mission of Lebanon Baptist Church by modeling Christlike conduct and engaging youth, parents, and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities
Teach biblical curriculum on Sundays and Wednesdays
Plan and oversee youth ministry events (camps, retreats, walk-ins, service projects, etc.)
Communicate regularly with pastor, staff, parents, and students
Attend and support youth activities inside and outside the church, as possible. (sports, concerts, school events)
Build strong relationships with youth and parents to encourage discipleship
Coordinate youth ministry with the broader church vision
Maintain confidentiality and a positive attitude in all church matters
Submit annual youth ministry budget for approval
Participate in workshops, conferences, and personal growth opportunities
Perform other ministry-related duties as needed
Expectations
Grow the youth ministry in meaningful, sustainable ways
Remain accountable to the pastor and seek mentoring
Attend worship services, staff meetings, and community events
Provide quarterly ministry updates and annual goals to pastor and deacons
Stay current with youth ministry practices and leadership development
Work a minimum of 20 hours per week (including Sunday school, worship, Wednesday activities, office hours, and youth events).
Meet with the pastor quarterly to review planned activities and dates of scheduled events.
Coordinate with the Sunday school director on event recommendations and resources
Participate in evaluations by the personnel committee after six months.
Qualifications
A growing personal relationship with God and a teachable spirit
Experience in youth ministry and basic administrative skills
Passion for evangelism, outreach, and discipling young people
Strong relational skills with youth, parents, staff, and congregation
Background in biblical/theological studies; alignment with church mission: Loving God, Experiencing Grace, Transforming Lives
Commitment to integrity, appropriate conduct, and professional appearance
Consent to background check and drug testing
Compensation Negotiable rate of compensation between $100-200 weekly, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
