
Youth and Discipleship Pastor

Position Summary
The Youth and Discipleship Pastor will offer spiritual guidance to students while leading and coordinating the church's comprehensive discipleship efforts. He will care for students and their families, train and support ministry leaders, and cultivate a churchwide culture of biblical discipleship aligned with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). In partnership with the Senior Pastor and other church leaders, he will advance the mission of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19‑20) by raising up disciples who cherish Christ, serve His church, and live faithfully on mission.
Qualifications Spiritual & Character Qualifications
Meets the biblical qualifications of a pastor/elder (1 Timothy 3:1‑7; Titus 1:6‑9; 1 Peter 5:1‑4).
A growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.
A clear calling to student ministry and discipleship, with a specific commitment to serve at Sardis Springs Baptist Church.
Agreement with and commitment to the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
A heart for evangelism, discipleship, and the local church.
Demonstrates integrity, humility, and servant leadership.
Education & Experience
Experience in youth ministry and/or discipleship leadership.
Strong teaching and communication skills.
Ability to lead volunteers and build teams.
Primary Responsibilities Student Ministry Leadership
Provide vision, leadership, and oversight for youth ministry.
Plan and lead weekly youth gatherings, Bible studies, and discipleship groups.
Develop a strategy for evangelism and outreach to students.
Organize camps, retreats, mission trips, and special events.
Disciple students in spiritual disciplines.
Equip parents to disciple their children at home.
Churchwide Discipleship Strategy
Develop and implement a clear pathway for discipleship for all ages.
Oversee small groups, Sunday School, and/or life groups.
Equip and train teachers and small group leaders.
Promote intergenerational discipleship.
Assist in leadership development and mentoring future leaders.
Pastoral Ministry
Provide pastoral care to students and families.
Participate in worship services and church-wide ministries.
Preach occasionally as requested by the Senior Pastor.
Support the overall mission and vision of the church.
Administration
Manage ministry budget responsibly.
Ensure safe church policies are followed.
Communicate/schedule effectively with parents, volunteers, and leadership.
Proficient in using technology to engage with youth and communicate with families.
Maintain regular office hours and attend staff meetings.

Model faithful attendance, stewardship, and service.
Maintain a healthy balance between ministry and family life.
Participate in ongoing theological and leadership development.
