* The candidate will have responsibility for a total of 24 credits each academic year, 18 of which will be instructional, and 6 of which will be reassigned to cover the duties of a new Director of the Outdoor Leadership Center and Certificate Program(s).* Course responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Introduction and Intermediate GIS, Spatial Analysis, Cartography, Outdoor Field Skills, Adventure Programming, and Recreational Lands Management for Sustainable Tourism.* The candidate will engage in academic advising and mentoring.* The candidate will engage in scholarly research.* The candidate will contribute to interdisciplinary teaching and involvement in activities that support Bemidji State University's shared fundamental values: Environmental Stewardship, Civic Engagement and Leadership, International and Multicultural Understanding, and Belief in the Power of the Liberal Arts.* The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to a collegial and supportive environment that advances the goals of the University.* Earned Master’s degree and at least 3 years of teaching Cartography, Spatial Analysis, and other GIS related courses in higher education.* Must have at least 1 year of experience of multi-modal/hyflex teaching at a 4-year institution.* Must have at least 3 years of experience in developing and leading outdoor programming and student excursions.* Has had relevant credentials in Wilderness First Aid and Wilderness First Responder and is committed to keeping those credentials up to date.* Demonstrated committed to the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism.* Experience working with Indigenous individuals and communities.* Earned Doctoral degree or ABD from a regionally accredited institution.* Interest/experience in curriculum development and program assessment.* Ability to contribute new approaches or expertise to advance the department’s program in Indigenous Sustainability Studies.**Information for new and prospective employees**Welcome to the Minnesota State career site for external applicants.
