* Design, deploy, configure and operate high performance computing systems.* Design, deploy, configure and operate high performance storage systems.* Design, deploy, configure and operate physical servers and associated virtualization layer.* Oversee selection, employment, development, control and discharge of employees and the establishment of personnel policies and practices in conjunction with the department’s HR leadership.* Develop and manage user support programs, including active helpdesk for these specialized resources, training sessions and written documentation.* Interface with vendors to select, purchase and maintain hardware and software solutions.* Develop and maintain service level agreements and supporting system for monitoring and tracking metrics.* Interface with department, school and university information technology groups to enable integrated operations with network, computing and identify management.* Maintain hardware installations in university data centers.* Develop and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity plan consistent with and meeting or exceeding the minimum standards of the university including threat detection, intrusion monitoring and system/data backups.* Provide reports to advisory board, department leadership and other key stakeholders.* Perform other duties as assigned.* Up to 22 days of vacation, 10 recognized holidays, and sick time.* Competitive health insurance packages with priority appointments and lower copays/coinsurance.* Take advantage of our free Metro transit U-Pass for eligible employees.* WashU provides eligible employees with a defined contribution (403(b)) Retirement Savings Plan, which combines employee contributions and university contributions starting at 7%.* WashU covers the cost of tuition for you and your family, including dependent undergraduate-level college tuition up to 100% at WashU and 40% elsewhere after seven years with us.Washington University in St. Louis' collective success is significantly attributed to the passion and outstanding efforts of our community.
