About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Actuarial Valuation. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the quarterly valuation and annual assumption reviews, supporting financial reporting, planning, and regulatory filings, and conducting experience studies for life and annuity products, including policyholder behavior. Additionally, the role involves reviewing cash-flow projections and statutory reserve changes, assisting in actuarial controls, governance, and risk documentation, managing monthly reinsurance settlements, and engaging with external auditors and actuaries. The AVP will also be expected to contribute to additional projects as required.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, be an FSA (or equivalent) with approximately 7 years of post-fellowship experience, and have a strong background in annuity reinsurance and asset modeling. Proficiency with MG-ALFA is essential, and programming/automation skills are a plus. A deep understanding of US GAAP, Stat, tax, and solvency frameworks is required, along with strong communication and multitasking skills. The role demands a professional who can work effectively in a team and is capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
