***Please indicate your preferred email and phone number in your resume. Our Future Alumni Network (FAN) Ambassadors are the student representatives of the UWM Alumni Association (UWMAA). FAN Ambassadors are the voice of current UWM students to the UWM Alumni network. They are tradition makers and keepers that help enhance the student experience, advance UW-Milwaukee, build a culture of philanthropy, and create lifelong connections to UWM. They promote the UWMAA throughout campus as an important part of a student’s lifecycle at UWM.
Qualifications
Be enrolled at UWM and eligible to work on campus (this is not a work-study position)
Must have an oral proficiency of the English language and be comfortable having conversations over the phone Be prepared and comfortable, encouraging philanthropy through donations over the phone
Demonstrate excellent communication skills and experience in providing superior customer service, occasionally under stressful conditions.
The ideal FAN Ambassador is positive, enthusiastic, creative, and open-minded.
FAN Ambassadors should have a passion for building relationships with fellow students, UWM alumni, parents, the wider community
Relevant experience is helpful, such as Student Association, Campus Ambassadors, RAs, Engagement Ambassador, etc.
Duties
Act as a student representative at UWMAA in-person events. Ensure the success of UWMAA events through participating in day-of-event coordination.
Promote the UWM Alumni Association student programs at campus events and via social media. Help promote digital events, including 414 for UWM Giving Days. FAN Ambassadors will be asked to attend numerous events throughout the year.
Utilize strong verbal communication skills to build and strengthen relationships with UWM alumni, parents, and other supporters by communicating through multichannel outreach using phone, text messaging, video, and email messaging.
Connect through conversation with alumni, current students, incoming students, and parents during in-person events hosted by campus partners, University Advancement, and FANs themselves.
FAN Ambassadors promote Panther Pride by sharing campus news and experiences, providing ways to engage with UWM, and asking for financial support for university schools/colleges, programs, and scholarships. FAN Ambassadors commit to 2 or more calling shifts/week during outreach periods.
Provide pre- and post-event outreach to participants, including pre-event reminder texts and phone calls, as well as post-event surveys and appeals.
Assist mass marketing communications through photo and quote submissions as well as with handwritten thank-you cards for select segments.
Provide insight and feedback on student interests and trends.
Assist with social media content creation as assigned by the Marketing team.
Handle constituent information with confidentiality.
Pay and Benefits
$15.00 per hour

Must be able to commit to AT LEAST 2 scheduled calling shifts per week. Some weeks will require additional time. Evening and weekend availability is required.
