2:00PM to 6:00PM Position Summary:
Ashley Hall seeks a dedicated and organized individual to assist the Director of After-School and Summer Programs in the Early School and Lower School division, with a primary focus on classroom support and administrative duties. This position plays a key role in ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for our students and their families. Key Responsibilities Include: Program Coordination & Administrative Support Assist with the daily operations of the Early School and Lower School after-school programs Support scheduling, staff training, and coordination of program logistics Provide mentorship and support to after school staff Help facilitate childcare for faculty and staff students during professional development, which may include adjusted work hours Take on leadership duties during the Director's absence, which may include adjusted work hours Classroom Assistance Assist after-school teachers in managing early childhood classrooms Support student engagement and classroom routines Help manage behavior and provide coverage during staff breaks, transitions, or emergencies Create and manage daily attendance records Support DSS (Department of Social Services) compliance and documentation Track, organize, and distribute classroom materials and supplies Assist with snack coordination and ordering as needed Physical Demands Approximately 80% mobility (standing/moving) within classrooms Up to 50% bending and lifting; able to lift up to 40 lbs, sit on the floor, and remain active for up to 6 hours/day Reasonable accommodations provided for qualified individuals with disabilities Key Requirements Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes high-stress environment Familiarity with DSS regulations and procedures for early childhood programs Strong interpersonal skills; able to collaborate with teachers, parents, and multiple staff members Competency in basic office technology (email, spreadsheets, standard equipment) Comfortable handling parent inquiries with professionalism, even in challenging situations Strong organizational and independent decision-making skills Previous experience supervising others or leading a team is a plus Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent At least six months of experience in a DSS-licensed early childhood program Must meet DSS background check and compliance requirements Application Instructions: Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, and 3-5 references to Lynsey Barrows, Director of Human Resources, at barrowsl@ashleyhall.org.
