Associate / Assistant Golf Professional: Idylwylde Golf & Country Club
Idylwylde Golf & Country Club is currently seeking a PGA of Canada Associate/Assistant Golf Professional for the 2026season.
A private golf facility built in 1922, the only way to access the club was via water taxi in the beginning; now we are in the heart of the City of Greater Sudbury but once on our rolling fairways, you would never know it. Set on the shores of Lake Nepahwin, Idylwylde Golf & Country Club is a first class experience for all levels of golfer and offers an excellent test for low and high handicappers alike.
The club currently has 900 golfing members, and significant teaching opportunities exist. We are looking for both experienced professionals and those that are entering the business.
Location Idylwylde Golf & Country Club Posted 2026-01-15 Deadline 2026-02-13 Job Summary The successful candidate will be actively involved in the professional team. The Associate/Assistant Professional will report directly to the Head Golf Professional and will have significant opportunity to develop well-rounded skills in many aspects of the business.
Responsibilities
Providing first class service to members and guests
Conducting private lessons and administering Men's, Ladies and Junior Golf Clinics
Assisting in the development of a high-performance junior team
Coordination of men’s and ladies days
Supervising and assisting the Member Services staff
Merchandising of apparel, equipment, and other golf related products
Involvement with tournament operations
Club fitting and club repair
Playing a reasonable amount of golf with members of all abilities
Qualifications
PGA of Canada member in good standing, or looking to join
Post-secondary degree or college diploma (Or Working towards)
Excellent member service, sales, and organizational skills
Positive, professional attitude and a team player with strong interpersonal skills
Tournament operations experience
Club fitting and equipment knowledge
Knowledge of JONAS point of sales system is an asset
Previous experience in the semi-private or private golf industry will be considered an asset
Compensation
Weekly Salary - $1000 - $1250, Commensurate with Experience (5 day work weeks)
Year-end Bonus Commissions on Club Repairs and Shop Sales
Teaching Revenue Year- Round (Winter lessons through off-site partnerships)

Participation in the Club’s staff meal program which affords one meal per eight (8) hours worked.
