Pay Rate $16.00/hour
Schedule Full-time, weekday business hours (varies by location)
Work Environment High-volume public service offices
Typical Day as a Journey Level Customer Service Representative
Provide in-person and phone support to members of the public.
Process applications for licenses, permits, registrations, and eligibility programs.
Answer questions and explain policies, procedures, and program requirements clearly and accurately.
Research policies and guidelines to resolve complex customer inquiries.
Resolve service and billing issues, including refunds and account adjustments.
Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions and transactions.
Determine service charges, collect payments, and perform daily cash reconciliation.
Prepare and transmit daily deposits to the bank or state treasurer.
Refer unresolved issues or grievances to appropriate departments as needed.
Ideal Fit
Previous experience in customer service, public administration, or government services.
Comfort working in a high-volume, public-facing environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret policies and procedures.
Experience with cash handling, reconciliation, or financial transactions.
Professional verbal and written communication skills.
Strong data entry, documentation, and recordkeeping abilities.
Work Environment & Expectations
Combination of in-person, phone, and computer-based work.
Regular interaction with customers, including individuals in stressful or sensitive situations.
Responsibility for accurate handling of financial transactions and public records.
Adherence to confidentiality, compliance, and state service standards.
