Job Description
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Director to ensure the delivery of quality mental and physical health services in the schools and at Youth & Family Centers.
- Plan and direct all clinical mental health services of the department following established standards of care, best practices, applicable laws, and district policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive, consistent, strategic clinical mental health plan across the school‑ and clinic‑based teams, including client referral, intake, screening, assessment, waiting list, and crisis intervention processes.
- Effectively oversee clinical documentation and utilization of the electronic medical record system (EMR), school‑ and clinic‑based processes and protocols, clinical behavioral health assessments, and clinical staff training.
- Direct the Alcohol and Drug Intervention Program that includes increasing awareness, expanding prevention, facilitating intervention, and promoting recovery for substance use and abuse among district youth.
- Work collaboratively with the department leadership team in the development and implementation of a comprehensive professional development plan for clinical staff within the department, ensuring all staff members are current with their CEU’s, and trainings are consistent among all mental health providers.
- Liaison across departments within the district, specifically between Counseling, Social Emotional Learning, Special Education, Student Engagement, and Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), to ensure a continuum of mental health services for students.
- Represent and promote Mental Health Services through community and professional partnerships, collaborative projects, and other activities to enhance client services and program operations.
- Foster and sustain the partnership with Parkland Health Hospital System and other physical health partners at Youth & Family Center locations.
- Supervise the management of all school‑based clinic facilities and related projects.
- Create relevant mental health resources and department collateral for internal and external partners, including district staff, parents, students, and community stakeholders.
- Select, train, and supervise managerial staff and establish productivity protocols for managers, teams, and clinicians.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required Master’s degree from an accredited college or university, Psychology, Social Work or other Mental Health studies
- Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university, Psychology, Social Work or other Mental Health studies preferred
- Required 5+ years of experience. Experience in school setting preferred
- Possession of a professional mental health license (LCSW, LMFT, LMSW, LPC- LPC-S, LSSP, LP) is required.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA, FERPA, and Medicaid billing.
- Competence in leadership and consultation skills, crisis intervention, and individual, family, and group counseling modalities.
- Demonstrated success in working with multi‑disciplinary and community partnerships.
- Demonstrated success working with students and staff in an educational learning environment
- Character and personality to relate effectively with racially and ethnically diverse staff, students, and families.
