Position Description
We are looking for a candidate with corporate and premium sales experience who thrives on breaking into new business within the corporate, promotional/premium, subscription box business, and literacy markets. The successful candidate should have strong sales experience dealing with custom publishing, corporate and premium clients, have a passion for selling, and be comfortable selling a variety of publishing lines including trade adult, children’s, eBooks and audio books. Candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be highly motivated, self‑starter, and outgoing with at least 4+ years of book publishing experience in corporate and premium sales.
Major Responsibilities
- Responsible for a channel generating over $5 million in sales annually
- Supervision of a Sales Assistant
- Overseeing our proprietary/custom publishing program
- Overseeing contractual buybacks of publishing deals negotiated by editorial
- Running PLs related to custom publishing deals
- Dealing with marketing, production, business office and operation’s departments
- Selling different publishing lines including adult, children’s, e‑Books and audio books
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of premium and corporate sales
- Strong negotiation skills
- Dealing with clients face‑to‑face
- Self‑starter and proactive
Experience Needed
- At least 4+ years of book publishing experience in corporate and premium sales
- Experience in special markets/licensing sales
- Strong sales background in book publishing
Educational Background Required
Four‑year college degree or better.
