The District Executive’s primary duty is recruiting and supporting volunteer leaders to ensure the mission of Scouting is successfully delivered. The District Executive is responsible for operations and performance of a territory, including the effective organization, execution, and promotion of the council program through the leadership of volunteers. Performance is measured by the successful achievement of membership, fund development, program, and unit service campaigns with a key emphasis on volunteer recruitment and support.

Responsibilities

Recruit, develop, and maintain effective volunteer leadership teams.

Assure the flow of funds from the territory through annual fundraising and product sales campaigns to help the council achieve its mission.

Be a good role model and recognize the importance of working relationships with other professionals and volunteers.

Objectives

Grow membership on an annual basis.

Establish and maintain full and effective volunteer leadership teams.

Ensure support of quality programs at all levels.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (transcript with the date degree conferred stated is required for employment).

Qualifications

Excellent communication skills. Must be comfortable with public speaking and interacting with diverse audiences.

Excellent people skills, enthusiastic, punctual, responsible, and creative.

Reside in or be willing to relocate to the assigned territory.

Willingness and ability to devote long and irregular hours to achieve objectives.

Attained 21 years of age or older.
