Position Overview Star Roofing is seeking an experienced Commercial TPO Superintendent to lead and manage field operations for single‑ply roofing projects, with an emphasis on TPO systems. This role oversees crews, coordinates scheduling, ensures quality installation, and enforces safety standards across multiple commercial job sites. The ideal candidate has extensive single‑ply experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities Field Leadership & Crew Oversight Direct and supervise commercial roofing crews installing TPO and other single‑ply systems. Coordinate jobsite activities, manpower, equipment, and daily production goals. Conduct jobsite meetings, safety briefings, and daily task planning. Ensure proper installation techniques and adherence to manufacturer specifications.
Technical Expertise Oversee the installation of:
TPO roofing systems (fully adhered, mechanically fastened, RhinoBond, etc.)
PVC and other single‑ply systems (as needed)
Insulation, cover boards, vapor barriers, and flashing details
Review blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals. Identify field challenges and provide immediate solutions to keep production on track.
Quality Control Conduct quality inspections throughout all phases of installation. Ensure compliance with Star Roofing’s standards, manufacturer guidelines, and warranty requirements. Manage punch‑list items and verify issue resolution prior to final inspection.
Scheduling & Coordination Work closely with Project Managers to maintain project timelines and sequencing. Coordinate material deliveries, equipment rentals, and subcontractor schedules. Provide daily progress updates, photos, and field reports.
Safety & Compliance Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies on every jobsite. Lead toolbox talks and site‑specific safety meetings. Ensure crews use proper PPE, fall protection, and installation methods.
Documentation & Reporting Complete accurate daily logs, timecards, and progress reports. Track job costs, production rates, and potential change order items. Communicate field issues, delays, and solutions to management.
Qualifications Required 5+ years of commercial roofing experience, primarily with TPO systems. 2+ years of crew leadership, foreman, or superintendent experience. Strong knowledge of commercial single‑ply roofing installation and details. Ability to read construction documents, roof plans, and manufacturer details. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills. Proven ability to manage multiple crews and job sites.
Preferred Previous experience with large commercial or industrial TPO projects. Knowledge of PVC and other single‑ply systems. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus. Familiarity with cranes, lifts, and jobsite equipment.
Work Environment Field‑based position at active commercial roofing job sites. Requires climbing ladders, working at heights, and exposure to outdoor conditions. May require travel between multiple projects.
