We're searching for an
Associate Technical Designer
to join our Technical Design team. This role is responsible for supporting assigned product categories while partnering closely with Senior Technical Designers and cross-functional teams to maintain fit, quality, and construction standards. The Associate Technical Designer plays an active role in the product development process, contributing technical expertise while continuing to expand knowledge and capabilities as the business evolves.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain detailed Tech Packs, including specifications, construction details, pattern corrections, and workmanship standards to achieve optimal fit, balance, and overall garment quality.
Measure and evaluate samples, enter accurate data into PLM, and prepare samples for fit sessions and approvals.
Participate in bi-weekly fit sessions and cross-functional meetings; document fit feedback, track action items, and follow up to ensure timely execution.
Manage follow-up photo samples and first-fit sample requests through approval.
Track sample status, revisions, and approvals in PLM to support development timelines.
Coordinate garment alterations, submit alteration requests, and maintain status tracking in Smartsheet.
Partner with Merchandising and Marketing to review catalog and web copy for accuracy in size equivalents, fit attributes, and length descriptions.
Review website and catalog imagery to ensure accurate visual representation of fit and product details
Experience/Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or equivalent industry experience.
3+ years of experience in Technical Design or the apparel industry.
Solid understanding of garment fit, balance, construction, fabrics, and fabric performance.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and PLM systems; experience with computerized pattern programs preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate fit issues and solutions.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated problem solver with strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
Collaborative team player who thrives in a cross-functional environment.
