Mission
To empower girls to embrace a strong sense of self. Unlike any other organization, GITK does this through a variety of programs, including a four part Empowerment Workshop Series led by licensed female professionals in their field delivered to pre-teen girls and the ones who love them. GITK strives to be the first step in the journey through adolescence. We are a small nonprofit organization focused on growing our programs and expanding our reach beyond St. Louis.
Job Purpose
The Program Director (PD) provides leadership for all GITK programs and represents the organization in the community. The PD leads program development and delivery, including managing staff, practicum students, and volunteers.
- Oversees all aspects of the program development, curriculum delivery, promotion, and scheduling instruction in accordance with our organization’s goals.
- Responsible for the training and daily supervision of all program staff, volunteers, program locations, facility and fiscal management, policy implementation and safety of all program locations operated by Girls in the Know.
- Responsible for developing and fostering relationships with schools and community organizations to focus on program growth.
Working Conditions
- Full-time hours. Combination of remote and in-office.
- Participation in early morning, evening, and weekend meetings/events will be required as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently move, transport, position equipment up to 30 pounds for various event needs.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time indoors (up to 6 hours).

Qualifications
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in the area of social work, nonprofit management or other related fields
- Minimum three years of experience managing nonprofit programming/experience writing educational training materials for girls, trusted adults, and volunteers
- Exceptional leadership, communication, fiscal management and managerial skills
- Experience managing complex programs and capable of balancing multiple priorities effectively
- Experience in identifying and managing program staff and volunteers
- Ability to work well independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Ability to be flexible with project and time management
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities based on needs of the organization or those we serve.
- Highly professional demeanor
- Possess a valid driver’s license and an insured motor vehicle
Compensation
The position is full time (40hrs/week). Salary range is commensurate with experience.
