Employment Type: contract 1-2 months
Part time -M-F during business hours of 8-5pm
This role is designed for a
strategic thinker who is also a hands-on doer —someone who can quickly step in, assess current event operations, and partner closely with the
VP of Events & Membership
to drive execution and improvement during a period of team transition.
This is
not a people-management role , but rather a
senior individual contributor and thought partner
position. The consultant will support a high-volume events environment and help evaluate whether the Chamber’s current event model continues to meet organizational needs.
~110 events annually , including:
Webinars
Large-scale in-person events
Hybrid programs
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the
point person for events , including on-site presence and vendor coordination (AV, venues, logistics)
Provide
strategic partnership
to the VP on event structure, workflows, and potential improvements
Support planning and execution of
complex in-person and hybrid events
Coordinate event logistics, timelines, speakers, content, and internal stakeholders
Bring outside perspective and best practices to help leadership evaluate whether to
maintain or evolve the current events model
Step in quickly, assess needs, and drive work forward in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Requirements
Director-level or senior events experience
Proven success running
event departments or large-scale programs
Strong experience managing
vendors and complex logistics
Comfortable in a
short-term, high-impact consulting role
Energetic, decisive, and able to “get things done” quickly
Work Environment
Fully onsite
in downtown Seattle (approximately 70% of events are walkable)
Potential flexibility for
remote Fridays , but candidate must provide their
own laptop
Immediate start preferred
