SEO is no longer just about ranking in the traditional “10 blue links.” The search landscape is shifting toward AI-generated results (e.g., Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity) and zero-click searches. This demands strategies that go beyond old practices. For both established and early-stage websites, the goal is to combine advanced on-page, off-page, and technical SEO with outreach that builds authority, earns citations, and increases inclusion in AI-generated summaries.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure sitemaps are always complete, up-to-date, and submitted to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools
  • Perform advanced technical SEO audits quarterly (crawlability, site architecture, CWV, schema, indexing)
  • Conduct monthly keyword research and build the SEO editorial calendar
  • Review and optimize all new content before publishing (titles, headings, meta, schema, interlinking)
  • Improve internal linking strategy to maximize authority flow
  • Oversee outreach campaigns to secure backlinks and AI citation opportunities (critical for E-E-A-T and AI trust)
  • Monitor AI-generated search results for brand inclusion and identify opportunities
  • Track rankings, traffic, and conversions; generate monthly SEO reports with actionable recommendations
  • Collaborate with content, design, and dev teams to ensure SEO best practices are integrated early
  • Manage both on-page and off-page SEO efforts across multiple sites
  • Stay updated on SEO trends, algorithm updates, and AI search developments

Qualifications

  • 3+ years proven experience in advanced SEO (on-page, off-page, and technical SEO at pro level)
  • Strong expertise in technical audits, structured data, CWV optimization, and index management
  • Experience in outreach and link acquisition strategies (travel or high-authority sites a plus)
  • Skilled in keyword research, competitive analysis, and editorial SEO planning
  • Proficient with tools like SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and Google Search Console
  • Ability to translate technical SEO into clear, actionable business recommendations
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills, capable of presenting to non-technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of AI search trends and E-E-A-T best practices
  • Interest in travel or cultural content is welcome, but not required

Benefits

  • Full-time stable role
  • Health insurance
  • Paid U.S. holidays
  • Wi-Fi stipend
  • Fully remote
