The Orthobiologics Sales Specialist is responsible for achieving predetermined sales goals and quotas within their assigned territory while developing and maintaining strong relationships with orthopedic surgeons, operating room staff, and healthcare professionals. This role is highly consultative and requires frequent in-person interaction and operating room presence.
The Orthobiologics Sales Specialist will maintain expert-level knowledge of the Arthrex orthobiologics product portfolio and associated procedures. The position involves consulting surgeons in the operating room on the appropriate use of Arthrex products and techniques, supporting procedures, and driving adoption of orthobiologic solutions.
Success in this role requires strong clinical understanding, sales acumen, comfort in open operating room environments, and the ability to build long‑term professional relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Achieve and exceed assigned sales objectives and territory quotas.
Represent Arthrex Green Bay as an independent agency authorized to sell Arthrex products to surgeons and healthcare professionals.
Establish, build, and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent communication and regular in‑person appointments.
Consult surgeons in the operating room regarding the use of Arthrex orthobiologics products and procedures.
Increase territory performance by developing and implementing effective sales strategies and business plans.
Communicate with existing and prospective customer accounts regarding product updates, portfolio changes, and educational programs.
Implement new sales plans and marketing strategies to position Arthrex competitively and meet or exceed territory objectives.
Cross‑sell additional products and manage new product introductions as they become available.
Identify customer needs and develop appropriate responses through written, telephone, and face‑to‑face communication.
Address and resolve issues that arise within assigned accounts in a timely and professional manner.
Collect competitive intelligence and remain current on industry, customer, and competitive trends.
Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and professional association meetings, including those held outside normal business hours.
Receive coaching, training, and mentoring from the Sales Manager; share knowledge with peers as needed.
Maintain ongoing training in sales skills, product features and benefits, anatomy, surgical indications, and business applications.
Uphold compliance by maintaining confidentiality, protecting company assets, acting ethically and with integrity, reporting noncompliance, and adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, accreditation, licensure requirements, and company policies.
Safely lift and transport surgical trays, instruments, and equipment weighing up to thirty‑five pounds on a regular basis.
Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum of 3+ years of orthopedic experience; orthobiologics experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships within the orthopedic and sports medicine market.
Knowledge of orthopedic procedures and terminology, particularly as they relate to Arthrex products.
Knowledge of operating room protocols and procedures.
Ability to learn, retain, and apply a high level of technical information, anatomy, and surgical indications.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to develop and execute effective 30/60/90‑day business plans.
Commission‑driven mindset with strong competitive drive.
Excellent public speaking, presentation, and communication skills.
