
Senior Employment Associate

A leading international law firm is seeking a Senior Employment Associate or Of Counsel to join its team in Los Angeles. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex employment litigation and advisory matters, including class actions, single-plaintiff cases, and transactional employment issues. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in labor and employment law and a strong understanding of California and federal employment regulations.
Responsibilities
Manage litigation for class actions and single-plaintiff cases, including wage and hour disputes, misclassification, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, and wrongful termination
Conduct legal research and drafting for motions, pleadings, and briefs
Advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions, including due diligence and drafting employment-related agreements
Provide counsel on reductions in force, restrictive covenants, employee mobility, compensation practices, commission plans, and leave policies
Support clients with employment policies, training, and compliance
Represent clients before state and federal courts and agencies
Collaborate with transactional teams on complex deals involving employment issues
Qualifications
JD from an accredited law school
Admitted to practice in California
Minimum 6 years of experience in labor and employment law, including litigation, transactional, and advisory work
Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including wage and hour laws and the California Labor Code
Experience defending class and collective actions, PAGA claims, and providing day-to-day employment counsel
Trial experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
