Odyssey Space Research (“Odyssey”) is a leading Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) and Software Engineering partner to the U.S. civil, commercial and national security space community. Odyssey’s core areas of expertise include spaceflight GN&C, flight software development and deployment, mission simulation and design, and systems engineering. Odyssey’s software products and engineering capabilities serve numerous high-profile customers and new space companies. We are actively pursuing one or more large, public, and highly visible government opportunities for upcoming spaceflight missions. Role Summary We are seeking a highly motivated

Proposal Manager

to lead the development and delivery of competitive proposals for NASA, the Department of War, and commercial space markets. This individual will serve as the key interface between the Business Development team and technical organizations, ensuring that proposed solutions are accurately captured, strategically priced, and delivered with compliance and clarity.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance Management : Ensure that all proposals meet the specific requirements set forth in requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), and other customer requests

Strategic Planning : Develop a strategy for each proposal that aligns with the company’s objectives and enhances its competitive position

Technical Writing : Create clear and compelling content that communicates the company's value proposition, utilizing active voice and technical accuracy

Coordination and Team Collaboration : Work with cross-functional teams, including technical experts, finance, and legal, to gather necessary information and ensure comprehensive responses

Timeline Management : Implement strict timelines to ensure proposals are submitted punctually, incorporating time for revisions and feedback

Quality Control : Review and edit proposals to enhance clarity, coherence, and compliance with federal acquisition regulations and agency-specific requirements

Required Qualifications

Knowledge of Regulations:

Familiarity with federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and specific agency supplements (e.g., DoD, GSA). Familiarity with data rights management and export laws are critical

Advanced Technical Writing Skills:

Expertise in producing high-quality documents in active voice that are succinct and targeted to the audience

Strong Communication Skills:

Both oral and written communication skillsmust be refined to effectively convey complex ideas and collaborate with diverse stakeholders

Project Management:

Ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously, demonstrating strong organization and time-management skills

Additional Skills

Analytical Thinking:

Ability to analyze RFP requirements and respond with tailored proposals

Persuasion and Negotiation:

Skills in persuading various stakeholders of the proposal's strengths and aligning it with client needs

Adaptability:

Capability to quickly adapt to changing regulations, requirements, and timelines in the proposal and contracting landscape
