Overview Job Title: Proposal Manager II City & State: Reston, VA (hybrid schedule)

Position Description Currently HGL has a challenging position open for a Proposal Manager II in our Reston, VA office. The Proposal Manager II can work a hybrid schedule. The successful candidate will be a valuable part of our dynamic Business Development team whose mission is to lead HGL’s continued growth and diversification. The Proposal Manager II will routinely work with Practice Leaders, Program Managers, Capture Managers, and other Proposal Managers to provide critical support to the development of compelling, high quality, winning proposals in response to Requests for Proposals (RFP). The successful candidate will also interact with the firm’s senior management on items dealing with company strategy, marketing campaigns and brand image.

Responsibilities/Duties What You\'ll Be Doing

Managing the overall proposal development process including coordinating proposal team activities, managing proposal volume development, and ensuring timely submission of required proposal materials

Assisting with RFP evaluation and proposal planning.

Developing proposal templates in accordance with RFP requirements.

Coordinating contributions of writers, technical teams, and outside team members.

Performing technical writing and editing as required.

Maximizing the proposal quality and appeal with interesting layouts, graphics, etc.

Ensuring proposal compliance with the RFP.

Managing proposal production and delivery.

Maintaining opportunity databases (data entry and tracking).

Updating stock proposal narratives and graphics as needed.

Required Skills What you need to be successful

10+ years of directly related experience.

BA/BS in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or other relevant field of study or commensurate experience.

Experience using a formalized proposal process for government procurements.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Ability to smoothly handle multiple assignments simultaneously and prioritize activities while maintaining schedule and quality.

Maintain a positive outlook in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Comfortably work within a team setting and positively contribute to team dynamics.

Ability to interface at all levels inside the organization and with outside team partners.

Strong organizational skills.

Excellent writing and proofreading skills.

Preferred Skills What you need to stand out – Preferred, not required

Significant and demonstrable experience managing US Government proposals for construction/environmental restoration/engineering services.

Experience developing SF330 qualifications packages for Environmental Architect/Engineer Services.

Adobe Acrobat; Microsoft SharePoint; graphic capabilities using Adobe InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop strongly preferred.

The salary range for this position ranges from $103,114 - $154,671 per year.

This position's final salary can be impacted by various factors including, but not limited to, contractual requirements, geographic location, job-related education, training, experience, and skills.
