Quick Snapshot The Industrial Account Executive (IAE) will cover our Alabama territory. This hybrid / remote position requires candidates to be local to the area. The role is a combo hunter / farmer—responsible for new business and retention of existing accounts. Prior outside/field sales experience in an industrial setting and emphasis on technical and hazardous/special waste sales is preferred.

Job Summary Present the full line of WM services to prospective WM customers or assigned area. Manage existing revenues and develop revenue opportunities within an established geographical territory. Meet or exceed individual sales goals for new business with industrial and hazardous waste customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Effectively utilize, coordinate, and cultivate relationships with internal and external customers; interact and work cohesively with other industrial sales team members.

Achieve or exceed budgeted revenue goals for new business with industrial and hazardous waste customers in assigned sales territory.

Maintain existing base business; identify new waste streams and new base business customers. Target and close event business opportunities.

Drive pre‑tax profits through innovative pricing and contracting strategies.

Develop a comprehensive sales plan for assigned territory in conjunction with the division sales plan and goals.

Work in tandem with Technical Service Representatives to assist customers in every aspect of the waste disposal process—including waste profiling, proposal preparation, pricing, contracting, and providing regulatory updates.

Demonstrate a working knowledge of industrial and hazardous waste regulations (RCRA, TSCA, CERCLA).

Demonstrate superior sales and organizational skills.

Identify local market dynamics and define and implement basic countermeasures to offset competitive campaigns, pricing deterioration, and/or changes to regulatory drivers.

Assist in collecting receivables within the contracted period.

Communicate competitive and market information to management to assist in business unit planning and strategies.

Maintain firm adherence to the management and control of confidential information.

Provide monthly sales reports, commissions, and expenses on a timely basis.

Attend industrial sales meetings and training classes as deemed appropriate.

Perform special projects and other tasks as assigned by the Industrial Sales Manager.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or equivalent

High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 5 years of relevant work experience

3 years industrial or hazardous waste sales work experience (in addition to education requirement)

Preferred Qualifications

CHMM or equivalent
