Senior Accountant – Real Estate (Strongly Preferred)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented finance professional with strong analytical abilities and a solid understanding of accounting principles. Experience in the Real Estate industry is strongly preferred, particularly in areas such as property accounting, development projects, lease accounting, or real‑estate‑focused financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and consolidated reporting packages
- Oversee general ledger activity, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow reporting
- Review vendor invoices, tenant billing, CAM reconciliations, and lease schedules (if applicable)
- Partner with property managers, development teams, and operations to ensure accurate financial data
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements
- Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; Real Estate industry experience strongly preferred
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Experience with property management systems (Yardi, MRI, RealPage, etc.) is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial analysis capabilities
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
- CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus
