Marketing & Communication Manager

The American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) seeks a Marketing & Communications Manager to advance ASOPRS’ mission by leading communications, marketing, and industry partner engagement.
Responsibilities Marketing & Communications
Develop and implement the annual marketing and communications plan to support strategic priorities, programs, meetings and goals.
Translate Society priorities into clear, actionable campaigns that strengthen visibility and member value.
Maintain a master content calendar and coordinate with staff and volunteers to support communication planning.
Create and manage content across all channels, tracking performance to guide future communication.
Maintain a consistent and professional presence across all digital channels, ensuring timely, accurate communication, and brand standards.
Create newsletters, press releases, impact and annual reports, and other member and public-facing materials that highlight Society news and opportunities.
Manage the podcast workgroup and producer on episode planning, guest coordination, production timelines, and content, ensuring alignment with the Society’s mission and priorities.
Industry Relationships/Sponsorship
Build and maintain relationships with industry partners.
Develop sponsorship and exhibit materials, agreements, and recognition opportunities.
Manage sponsor and exhibitor communications, fulfillment, and stewardship.
Manage exhibit, sponsorship, and product theater sales for annual meetings, including on-site coordination.
Manage non-meeting sponsorships.
Collaborate with the Meetings Manager and lead relevant workgroups to align industry engagement with Society goals.
Manage non-meeting sponsorships by identifying opportunities and ensuring smooth integration into Society content and promotions
Prepare educational grant applications and sponsorship proposals, staying informed about industry trends and evolving sponsor priorities.
Team Collaboration & Operations
Act as staff liaison to assigned committees and volunteer leaders.
Support cross-functional projects and special initiatives that advance ASOPRS strategic and operational goals.
Participate in shared administrative responsibilities typical of a small staff, including responding to inquiries and other operational tasks.

— On-the-job; role-specific orientation and professional development opportunities provided.
Work Environment
— Full-time, salaried, remote position. Occasional travel to external/local staff meetings as required. Participation in evening conference calls is expected due to volunteer schedules.
Administrative Responsibilities
— Contributes to shared administrative responsibilities as part of a small team. Some duties may be jointly managed depending on the time of year. Collaboration and flexibility are essential. Fully self-supporting role — responsible for own administrative tasks.
Travel
— Travel to two meetings per year in Spring and Fall. Additional travel may be required and will be communicated well in advance.

Required
Bachelors degree required
5+ years of experience in communications, marketing, and digital content management.
Prior experience working in a fully remote environment.
Preferred
Five or more years of experience in a membership-based nonprofit or medical professional society, with direct responsibility for member communications and engagement.
Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS.
Basic proficiency with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) to adapt templates and create simple graphics; complex design supported by an external graphic designer
Familiarity with media monitoring tools (e.g., Google Alerts)
Experience managing sponsorship or industry partner relationships
