Job Responsibilities The VP, (Regional) Managing Director leads strategic business growth within a defined geographic region, cultivating relationships with emerging biotech, mid-size, and early-phase clients. This strategic role focuses on identifying and converting high-potential opportunities, establishing Syneos Health as the partner of choice across a regional ecosystem of innovators and investors. This is an exciting and highly visible leadership role that acts as an extension of the Syneos Health leadership team — positioned at the intersection of science, strategy, and market development. The VP, (Regional) Managing Director influences the company’s regional growth strategy, shaping key partnerships and contributing directly to the organization’s long-term success. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a regional growth strategy to expand Syneos Health’s footprint across emerging biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Cultivate trusted relationships with C-suite executives, scientific leaders, and investors within the local ecosystem, representing Syneos Health’s integrated capabilities and scientific depth. Serve as a visible regional ambassador, maintaining a strong presence at industry events, forums, and thought-leadership venues to build brand awareness and credibility. Proactively identify and shape new opportunities through early engagement, leveraging insights to craft differentiated value propositions tailored to client needs. Coordinate with BD and Delivery leaders to ensure the seamless translation of opportunities into successful project execution. Maintain strong situational awareness of regional biotech trends, funding landscapes, and regulatory influences, using this knowledge to anticipate customer needs and market shifts. Champion operational excellence and delivery readiness across the region, ensuring Syneos Health’s commitments align with client expectations and strategic intent. Apply the Market Developer playbook principles to balance farming and hunting behaviors—simultaneously nurturing existing relationships and creating new ones that fuel sustainable growth.

Qualifications
Advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) in life sciences, business, or related discipline. Minimum 12–15 years of experience in business development, clinical research, or strategic account leadership roles. Deep understanding of regional biotech ecosystems, including early-phase development and funding networks. Proven ability to lead matrixed teams and drive commercial growth through influence and collaboration. Strong communication and consultative selling skills. Ability to travel regionally up to 50%, with exceptions for instances of higher travel frequency.
