Job Description: Commercial Lines Account Executive (Hybrid)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Commercial Lines Account Executive
to serve as a trusted advisor and “risk manager” for our commercial clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a relationship driven environment, understands complex commercial placements, and takes pride in delivering proactive, high touch service. The Account Executive will manage and grow a book of business by guiding clients through coverage strategy, renewals, midterm service needs, and risk management planning.
This is a
hybrid role . After acclimation and onboarding, you will work
in office two days per week .
What You Will Do
Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of commercial clients, acting as a risk management partner, not just a policy servicer.
Lead renewals end to end including exposure gathering, coverage analysis, marketing strategy, carrier negotiations, proposal development, and presentation.
Manage new business onboarding and ensure a smooth, professional transition into the agency.
Provide strategic guidance on coverage structure and limits across multiple lines, including but not limited to:
Commercial Auto and fleet
Property
General Liability
Workers’ Compensation
Excess and Umbrella
D&O, EPLI, and related management liability lines
Coordinate with internal service team members to ensure accurate documentation, timely endorsements, certificates, audits, claims support coordination, and ongoing client communication.
Maintain accurate activity, policy, and account documentation within Applied Systems and related agency tools.
Identify coverage gaps, emerging exposures, and improvement opportunities, bringing solutions to clients in a clear, consultative manner.
Build strong carrier relationships and represent clients with professionalism and credibility in the marketplace.
Travel locally to client offices as needed using company vehicles when applicable.
Required Qualifications
14+ years of true Commercial Lines insurance experience
in an Account Executive, Account Manager, Producer support, or similar client facing role.
Strong working knowledge of commercial lines coverages, structures, and placement considerations across multiple lines.
Applied Systems proficiency
(Applied agency management software) with demonstrated ability to manage workflows, documentation, and ACORD applications.
Proven ability to manage complex accounts with a high level of service, accuracy, and responsiveness.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain coverage and strategy to business owners and executive level stakeholders.
Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience serving as a consultative risk advisor, including coverage benchmarking, exposure reviews, and strategic renewal planning.
Strong carrier relationships and experience marketing complex accounts.
Experience supporting clients across multiple industries and account sizes.
