General Responsibilities In collaboration with the Coordinator of Residential Services, the position carries the responsibility for providing supportive service to residential victims of domestic violence. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Provide a safe, non‑judgmental, and empowering environment to clients.

Facilitate childcare and educational activities.

Coordinate services on behalf of children in a domestic violence shelter.

Work collaboratively with Agency staff in order to facilitate comprehensive services.

Specific Duties

Ensure that residential children are connected with the appropriate resources including support, advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, parenting support, information, and referrals.

Liaison between Women Aware and Boards of Education, coordinating transportation with the child’s school or assisting with referring child to enroll in new school system or childcare.

Complete safety assessment with parents on car seats, sleep safety, and overall household safety.

Provide direct client services including childcare as well as age‑appropriate educational and/or recreational activities with safe house children.

Ensure children are connected with appropriate services including therapy, early intervention, medical, dental, recreational, etc. Ensure each child leaves the program with a post‑shelter services plan.

Facilitate activities that promote parent/child bonding.

Model non‑violent conflict resolution and use of non‑violent forms of discipline.

Update and maintain the “Child Activity Log” as well as Childcare stats in order to manage contacts and hours of services provided.

Create and maintain the child activities binder in order to document activities provided to clients.

Inspect all toys, crafts, and games to ensure they are child‑safe and have proper sanitation.

Update and maintain Child Activities bulletin board.

Alert Coordinator of Residential Services to any safety concerns.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Coordinator of Residential Services.

Overnight Safe House Advocate This job description is a broad outline of the responsibilities and duties of the Overnight Safe House Advocate and will be amended, as needed, to meet the program priorities of Women Aware, Inc. General Responsibilities In collaboration with the Director of Residential Services, this position carries the responsibility for providing case management services to residential victims of domestic violence. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Provide a safe, non‑judgmental, and empowering environment to clients. Provide individual case management and crisis intervention, services in accordance with accepted standards of care and ethics of the profession.

Specific Duties

Provide the following direct services: Answer the 24‑hour domestic violence hotline and properly provide crisis counseling, information/referrals, and shelter screening. Responsible for orienting residents to a communal living residential facility. Provide ongoing information and advocacy to assigned clients during their stay. Support residents in achieving their goals in accordance with program guidelines and Agency policy. Provide client transportation on an as‑needed basis.

Documentation: maintain case records for clients according to Agency documentation policy/procedure, document hotline calls, intakes, discharges, incidents, and assessments, complete safety, and goal plans with clients, and maintain other records as needed.

Maintain and submit daily timely and accurate statistics.

Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports/statistics including, DV Core Service Stats, services provided, and hotline log.

Provide coverage for coworkers as needed. May be required to stay and cover subsequent shift in case of emergency, inclement weather, if next shift relief does not report to work, or if unable to find coverage. May be required to work other shifts and weekends as needed and directed by the Director of Residential Services.

Part‑Time Safe House Advocate 24 hours/week, 3 pm‑11 pm Part‑time Flex Position – Shelter Advocate needed to provide case management and crisis intervention services to victims of domestic violence in a residential facility on a per diem basis. Two shifts available (24 hours per week Sun – Tues or Thurs – Sat 3 PM‑11 PM) bachelor’s degree preferred, domestic violence experience and proficient in Spanish a plus.

Job Responsibilities Include:

Answering the 24‑hour domestic violence hotline.

Part‑Time Creative Arts Therapist This job description is a broad outline of the responsibilities and duties of the Creative Arts Therapist/Counselor and will be amended as needed to meet the program priorities of Women Aware (the Agency) and its ensuing work requirements. General Responsibilities In collaboration with the Clinical Director, the Creative Arts Therapist is responsible for providing creative arts therapy services to child witnesses of domestic violence, as well as support services to the non‑offending parent. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

Provide a safe, non‑judgmental, and empowering environment to clients.

Provide individual and group creative arts therapy services for children, and support services for their non‑offending parent in accordance with accepted standards of care and ethics of the profession.

Work collaboratively with Agency staff and community agencies to facilitate the delivery of services.

Specific Duties

Responsible for ensuring that the following direct services are provided to non‑residential clients: intake appointments, individual and group creative arts therapy, adult support group, client advocacy, support services including resources and referrals, and crisis intervention.

Maintain case records for individual and group clients according to Agency documentation policy/procedure, administer evaluations and assessments, complete safety and goal plans with clients, and maintain other records, as needed.

Maintain contact with clients on the waiting list and update accordingly.

Maintain and submit daily log; timely and accurately input stats to the data spreadsheet.

Assist with submission of statistical reports such as monthly program reports, DV core statistics, and PALS programmatic reports to the Clinical Director.

Other duties as assigned.

Per Diem Caseworker (Overnight, Weekends and Holidays) Per Diem Caseworkers needed to provide case management and crisis intervention services to victims of domestic violence in a residential facility on a per diem basis. Availability to work holidays, weekends (mornings or evenings) and overnight shifts. Bachelor’s degree preferred, domestic violence experience and proficient in Spanish a plus.

General Responsibilities In collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer, this position carries the responsibility for directly supervising the Development Department. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

Responsible for the management of the Development Office, which includes all aspects of fundraising from private sources (corporate, foundations, organizations), donor cultivation and stewardship, communications, marketing and public relations.

Ensure grant oversight and compliance.

Supervision of community education and outreach activities.

Responsible for communications and marketing.

Specific Duties

Develop comprehensive, integrated advancement plan for Women Aware, Inc. in collaboration with the CEO, including quantitative and qualitative goals and objectives, strategies and tactics, timeline and budget. Strategies serve to: a) strengthen, sustain and expand existing programs, b) establish new initiatives and achieve sustainable growth and/or replacement of existing sources of funding.

Public Relations and Cultivation of Donors – Manage integrated, multi‑channel direct marketing program in conjunction with the ED; develop programs that foster donor acquisition and retention. Develop and steward relationships with past (lapsed), present and potential donors. Be a liaison with donors and the board and/or agency programs. Involve donors in meetings, tours, or on agency projects. Identify and encourage important relationships between trustees, staff and friends that can help foster funding relationships with individuals, foundations and corporations and other community funding sources. Maintain prospecting, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding lists and review and evaluate for intended purposes. Direct the identification, research, cultivation and solicitation of major gift prospects. Begin developing Planned Giving strategies for future prospecting.

Communications – Develop and implement an integrated, strategic communications plan to advance the Women Aware brand; oversight of the website; manage the development, production and distribution of print and electronic communications that engage clients, funders and the community; responsible for media relations. Distribute and track broadcast email, publications and collateral materials. Coordinate design, production and distribution of the annual report. Develop, maintain and produce analytical reports on communications program, including direct mail, email, website, social media, earned media. With support of Admin, oversee correspondence to donors, community organizations, corporations, funders, interested groups and individuals for development and public relations projects.

Development Operations – ensure the use of effective and efficient business processes and best practices; establish policies and procedures for inputting, training and maintaining the database. Maintain donor database, including integrity of data input and output. Ensure timely and accurate donor acknowledgement. Produce management reports to support evidence‑based strategy. Manage integration between donor database and website donations. Provide technical support for appeals including mailing lists and segmented merges. Maintain digital and hard‑copy records for events, appeals, community outreach and communications (as necessary).

Develop and Coordinate Special Events – With the community educator, plan and manage strategic events that build awareness of Women Aware, engage the community and cultivate prospective funders. Coordinate all fundraising events with the cooperation/support of community volunteers, trustees, Fundraising Chair, committee members and staff. Manage income and expense budget for each event.

Constituent Relations – With the community educator, manage community outreach that educates the public about domestic violence and serves to increase awareness of Women Aware; strategic management of volunteer engagement. Interface with community members and groups interested in supporting Women Aware. Build and manage, with community educator, volunteer community outreach program, including identifying opportunities, recruiting representatives, coordinating logistics and tracking outcomes. Respond timely and support follow‑up communication with community organizations, corporations, scouts, families and individuals who are interested in fundraising for Women Aware. Represent Women Aware at community events or send representative.

Procurement of Funds – Research private fund opportunities through foundations, corporations, organizations, etc. In cooperation with the Grants Coordinator: develop and review proposals for funding for projects and operations in conjunction with all departments and programs; meet with potential funders and grant advisors as determined supervise completion of grant reports as required by foundations; maintain grant timeline schedule and establish a system to confirm deadlines. Supervise and Assist Grants Coordinator and Assistant Chief Executive Officer with government grants as necessary.

Administration – Compile monthly, quarterly and annual narrative and statistical reports as required. With the support of Admin, oversee and coordinate the “thank you letter” process for all donations and events by establishing and maintaining a seamless and timely system; draft annual report; maintain database/mailing list and information on organizations, funders, donors etc. and maintain hours of volunteers participating in development activities. Supervise and evaluate staff, students/interns and volunteers assigned to you or projects under your direction. Attend board, committee and staff meetings and supervision as requested. Monitor development department expenses. Participate in NJ Association of Fundraising Professionals organization. Meet with development consultant as scheduled.

General Responsibilities In collaboration with the Clinical Director, this position carries the responsibility of bridging services between Women Aware, Inc. and Middlesex County DCP&P. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

To strengthen and assist DCP&P caseworkers with DV assessments to identify abuse and intervention for victims of domestic violence and their children.

Identify and bring to the attention of the supervisor, patterns of investigative practice that may raise concerns or issues that need policy or practice adjustment.

Provide information about trends and best practices related to domestic violence.

Provide a safe, non‑judgmental, and empowering environment to victims of domestic violence in accordance with accepted standards of care and ethics of the profession.

Specific Duties

Partner with DCP&P caseworkers on site and on home visits, or elsewhere, when appropriate.

Provide direct short‑term support for clients, with a greater focus on the assessment of lethality cases, to assist them in understanding domestic violence and its impact.

Provide case consultation to DCP&P caseworkers regarding dynamics of domestic violence, recommendations for additional services such as emergency shelter, housing, legal information/options, counseling, and BIP.

Identify and make provisions for DCP&P trainings/development opportunities.

Maintain monthly statistical reports; complete and submit stats accurately and timely.

Maintain appropriate client files and open client cases when applicable, keeping charts orderly and up to date.
