Course Information
Baltusrol Golf Club is a 36-hole facility located in Springfield, NJ. The club was founded in 1895 and has restored its two, Top-100 A.W Tillinghast golf courses the Lower and Upper Course. Baltusrol is well known for providing and exceeding membership expectations for tournament conditions daily. Baltusrol has hosted 16 USGA National Championships, the 2005 and 2016 PGA Championship, the 2023 Women’s KPMG Championship and is slated to host the 2029 PGA Championship. Baltusrol restored the Lower Course in 2020 and the Upper Course in 2024. This is a unique opportunity to work with USGA greens, PrecisionAire HVAC units, a new RainBird irrigation system, drainage, bunkers, and tee complexes.
Requirements The Baltusrol Golf Club grounds department is seeking hardworking, self-motivated individuals that are eager to advance their career in the golf course industry. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Director of Grounds, Superintendents and Assistants to facilitate and execute all operations necessary to maintain two, Top-100 golf courses. The Assistant Superintendent will assist in but not limited to; course setup, intensive water management of playing surfaces, monitoring and applying chemical applications, small-scale projects and all other agronomic practices necessary to maintain championship conditions.
Educational Requirements 2-year certificate or a 4-year degree in Turfgrass or Agronomy.
Experience Requirements Entry level position, 1-2 years of experience as an intern. Must be highly motivated and a team player.
