Position Summary Manage the design, installation, upgrade and support mechanisms for all clinical, quality assurance and systems as assigned. Direct and supervise the Clinical and IT Analysts assigned to support and implement these systems. Ensure that system selection and implementation are in harmony with the overall architecture and organizational business initiatives. Support education and research in conjunction with Chief Medical Information Officer. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed Responsibilities
COMMUNICATION – Relate information to the Administrator IT to ensure smooth implementation of systems
COMMUNICATION – Communicate with both computer and non-technical personnel in order to understand user needs and to make these needs known to appropriate system vendors and IT personnel
GOALS – Coordinate all Hospitals goals into design and implementation activities of the Clinical Systems to ensure maximum benefit from systems with minimal disruption to users
GOALS – Ensure Clinical Systems design and implementation activities are coordinated and in sync with the overall goals of IT
REPORTS – Direct the preparation and maintenance of management reports for administration
COORDINATION – Assist in the development and management of implementation work plans and testing activities, in collaboration with vendor(s)
COORDINATION – Coordinate and supervise system upgrades and/or system installations for the assigned project
SYSTEMS – Maintain familiarity with all Hospitals information systems, their use in the institution, the healthcare industry and trends in the health information area including compliance with State, Federal and accreditation agency regulations
SUPERVISION – Develop efficient organizational structure. Supervise employees and select, terminate, train, educate, correct deficiencies, perform appraisals, issue discipline, counsel, schedule work assignments; encourage staff teamwork and growth initiatives
BUDGET – Develop and administer the division's annual budget; monitor and approve expenditures
DEVELOPMENT – Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
