Provides special custom machining products cost quotation as appropriate and coordinates resources to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner. Quotations based on customer prints, sketches and other information. Includes determining materials used, calculating make or buy information, determining routing and machine sequencing, assigning production cost factors and other quotation activities. Ensures that all quotations are completed accurately and on time.

Works as a member of a team maintaining self-directed work in order to obtain the highest level of customer service, quality and efficiency. Communicating with customers on engineering details and order status.

Constructs bills of materials, routings and other engineering documentation. Will be a key member in the manufacturing engineering team assisting in areas such as trouble shooting, process improvement, cost reductions, cost containment and value added issues plant wide. Will be involved with all aspects of increasing production efficiencies and improving standard cost.

Develops CAM programming for products. Uses a full understanding of CNC and machining centers to effectively determine production capabilities. Also uses a good working knowledge of piece part and fixture design.

Processes assigned ECO’s. Includes investigating proposed changes, determining change feasibility, coordinating approvals, updated drawings, adjusting BOM’s and routings. Ensures that all ECO’s processes are completed accurately and on time.

Assists with trouble shooting areas or projects. Includes general operations, set-up procedures, tooling, fixturing, work orders and other projects as assigned.

Assists with process improvement, cost reductions, cost containment and value added issues plant wide either as an individual contributor or within a team. Includes providing specifications or other technical data as required, identifying problem areas, developing and applying corrective actions.

Interfaces with various departments with product development. Includes assisting with prototype production runs, reviewing product specifications, training department supervisors and employees on new product manufacturing and other new product interfacing activities.

Education and Experience

Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field, or three (3) or more years equivalent experience.

Two (2) or more years manufacturing engineering experience.

Skills

Strong organizational skills.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills including patience, phone skills, and the ability to explain technical examples

Experience working with WiFi, Bluetooth, and other wireless interfaces

Schematic reading experience

Excellent problem-solving skills

Teamwork and Communication skills

Technical Writing experience

Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Able to work well independently on daily assignments with general instructions and minimal supervision
