Overview

Program Director position at Arthur J. Gallagher. This role is integral to managing insurance programs, overseeing staff, and ensuring exceptional client service. The Program Director will serve as the trusted advisor and relationship lead for our pooling and captive clients, supporting them with expert guidance, responsive service, and proactive claims and governance support.

This position may require periodic out-of-state travel (approximately 15%) and has the opportunity to be fully remote, with some travel throughout the year.

This role is budgeted between $85k-100k annually

How You\'ll Make An Impact

As a Program Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring program excellence and high-touch customer service. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Client Stewardship: Serve as the go-to contact for all member needs, from onboarding to renewal.
  • Program Governance: Plan and attend board meetings, assist with meeting agendas, and present updates.
  • Claims & Risk Management: Liaise with TPA partners and elevate high-impact claims issues as needed.
  • Member Engagement: Travel regionally to visit members, review coverage, and conduct program reviews.
  • Operational Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams on billing, documents, coverage issuance, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Management: Administer and oversee insurance programs, including pools, captives, and JPAs.
  • Client Service: Respond to and fulfill client requests and inquiries, ensuring superior customer service.
  • Account Management: Perform account management duties as a primary responsibility.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee account managers and support staff in their day-to-day roles.
  • Renewals: Complete renewal processes on behalf of clients.
  • Consultation: Provide risk management and insurance consultation to members.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors such as actuaries, auditors, investment managers, and insurance brokers.
  • Governance Materials: Create board books and other governance materials; present at board meetings.

Position Objectives (First 12 Months)

  • Learn and Adapt: Gain a comprehensive understanding of how RPA administers programs, including reinsurance and excess insurance programs.
  • Training: Complete onboarding, new hire training, and familiarize yourself with Gallagher’s document management and filing processes.
  • Client Familiarization: Understand P&C accounts, programs, coverages, and websites.
  • Self-Sufficiency: By the end of 12 months, be able to service clients independently and manage assignments/projects effectively.

About You

Required :

  • Active P&C Insurance License.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in P&C insurance, public risk pools, or nonprofit organizations. Working knowledge of commercial insurance products and coverages.
  • Strong communication, relationship management, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with public boards, committees, or governance bodies.
  • Must be open to travel.

Compensation And Benefits

We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
