As a Body Shop Estimator, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate and efficient estimates for collision repairs, maintaining workflow in the body shop, and ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality service.
Responsibilities
Inspect damaged vehicles and assess the extent of repairs needed.
Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using estimating software (e.g., CCC One, Mitchell, Audatex).
Communicate with customers to explain repair processes, timelines, and costs.
Coordinate with insurance adjusters to ensure proper claim handling and approvals.
Collaborate with technicians and parts departments to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry repair standards and insurance procedures.
Document all repair estimates, supplements, and customer communications.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Greet customers and handle incoming calls and inquiries in a professional manner.
Schedule repair appointments and coordinate vehicle drop-offs and pick-ups.
Prepare and process repair orders, estimates, invoices, and insurance documentation.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, repair progress, and parts orders.
Communicate with insurance adjusters and assist with claim processing.
Track parts deliveries and update technicians on arrival times.
Assist with payroll, timekeeping, and other internal administrative tasks.
Maintain a clean and organized front office and customer waiting area.
Support the Body Shop Manager with reporting, scheduling, and other duties as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in auto body repair or estimating is a plus.
2+ years of experience in auto body estimating or a related field.
Proficiency in estimating software (CCC One, Mitchell, or similar).
Strong knowledge of vehicle repair processes and insurance procedures.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
