The Grand Rehabilitation & Nursing at River Valley is seeking an experienced Director of Dietary Services to lead our Food Services Department and ensure high-quality, resident-centered nutritional care.

This is a

full-time leadership position

reporting directly to the Administrator and working closely with the Dietitian and interdisciplinary team.

Position Summary The Director of Dietary Services is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of the Food Services Department, ensuring meals are nutritious, compliant with physician orders, and prepared in a clean, safe, and efficient healthcare environment. This role combines

culinary leadership, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and resident satisfaction

in a long-term care setting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, supervise, and manage the Food Services Department

Coordinate dietary services with Nursing, Administration, Activities, and Social Services

Plan and oversee menus, therapeutic diets, and special dietary needs

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

Supervise, schedule, train, and evaluate dietary staff

Maintain food safety, sanitation, and quality standards

Monitor food costs, inventory, and production efficiency

Participate in resident admissions, care planning, and discharge processes

Conduct regular rounds to assess meal quality and resident satisfaction

Prepare reports and assist with surveys, audits, and plans of correction

Maintain accurate menus, recipes, policies, and documentation

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Food Service Management, or related field OR

equivalent experience with

3+ years of dietary management experience

Prior supervisory experience in healthcare, skilled nursing, or institutional food service required

Strong knowledge of menu planning, dietary therapy, and food service regulations

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
