
Utica Care Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated
Food Service Director
to oversee and manage the food service operations. This key leadership role ensures that food service meets the highest standards of quality, sanitation, and regulatory compliance, while providing a nutritious, welcoming dining experience for residents.

Salary $70,000-$75,000 (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
Food Service Planning & Coordination:
Collaborate with other department directors to plan food service and activities, ensuring that the dining experience supports residents' needs and enhances their overall well-being.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that all food service practices and procedures comply with Department of Health regulations and industry standards for food safety and sanitation.
Program Development & Implementation:
Plan, organize, and implement the goals and programs of the Food Service Department to maintain efficient and effective operations.
Supplies & Equipment Management:
Oversee the care and use of all supplies and equipment, ensuring that they are well-maintained and available for daily operations.
Sanitation & Appearance Oversight:
Perform regular inspections of food service areas to ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and proper team performance. Maintain the appearance of food service areas to meet the facility’s high standards.
Team Leadership:
Provide strong leadership and direction to the food service team, fostering a positive work environment and ensuring that all staff members meet performance expectations.
Interpersonal Relations:
Maintain professional relationships with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public, handling all interactions with tact and professionalism.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
A degree in Food Services or equivalent supervisory experience is required.
Prior experience working in a long-term care (LTC) facility is preferred.
Skills & Knowledge:
Extensive knowledge of food management, menu planning, and dietary therapy.
Experience in food purchasing, inventory control, and cost management.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, direct, and support the food service team.
Ability to plan, organize, and manage the day-to-day operations of the Food Service Department.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to food service operations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with staff, residents, families, and external partners.
