
Overview
The Salem Housing Authority is seeking a dynamic housing champion for the Director of Operations (DOO) role. The Director of Operations will play a key role in the leadership of the agency and work alongside the Executive Director in addition to Department Leadership staff to support and carry out the mission of the agency. The DOO will directly oversee the divisions of Procurement, Modernization, Development, and Maintenance Operations for the Salem Housing Authority. The DOO will also share oversight responsibilities of any/all assigned divisions and operations as a result of Management Agreements overseen and managed by the Salem Housing Authority. Current management agreements include the Marblehead Housing Authority and the agency’s non–profit arm, Housing Opportunities of Salem (HOS).
Responsibilities
Directly responsible for the overall supervision of assigned leadership staff and oversight of all housing authority departments in the absence and as directed by the Executive Director of the agency.
This is a highly responsible role with the expectation of on–call responsibilities for instances of emergency management.
The DOO will share oversight responsibilities of any/all assigned divisions and operations as a result of Management Agreements overseen by the Salem Housing Authority.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in the public housing industry and a minimum of 5 years of experience supervising Maintenance programs and staff along with Modernization programs.
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree and possess or obtain within one year a PHM (Public Housing Manager) certification or an MPHA (Massachusetts Public Housing Administrator) certification.
Must possess an MCPPO (Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Officer) certification or obtain within the first 18 months of employment.

Compensation The salary range is $180,000.00 to $185,250.00 annually and will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
