Cosmopolitan and Seventeen are seeking a visionary Director, Social Media & Video to lead the charge in expanding our social presence and innovating our video content strategy. Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing) Lead and innovate the social media and video content strategy for Cosmopolitan and Seventeen. Oversee and mentor the social and video teams, setting goals and monitoring performance to meet KPIs. Stay ahead of digital and social trends to ensure our platforms remain fresh, relevant, and engaging. Create and execute strategic audience development plans across all social media platforms. Launch and evaluate video series on platforms including YouTube and social, using performance insights to inform decisions. Collaborate with editorial and creative teams to align content with brand voice, tone, and initiatives. Drive a consistent, cross-platform strategy with clear direction and measurable goals. Partner with the Sr. Director of Editorial Operations to streamline workflows and optimize production resources. Establish a cohesive visual and tonal identity across all social and video content in collaboration with the Editor-in-Chief and Creative Director. Qualifications (What We’re Looking For) Proven experience leading social media and video teams, ideally within a digital media environment. Deep knowledge of platform best practices and emerging trends across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and more. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data to refine content and strategy. Exceptional communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills. A creative, audience-first mindset with the ability to translate editorial stories into compelling visual and social content. Demonstrated success driving brand growth and engagement through social and video. This role is based in New York City and follows a hybrid schedule (4 days per week in-office). The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.
