– Be part of making an impact in public health alongside dedicated people just like you Responsibilities and duties are described below and include providing nutrition certifications, education, and client support in person, over the phone, and virtually. The role also serves as a nutrition and dietetics resource to nurses, health educators, or other health care providers in the facility, and includes documenting care plans and progress.
Advises clients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation
Assesses nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling
Consults with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of client
Counsels individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life
Develops curriculum and prepares manuals, visual aids, course outlines, and other materials used in teaching
Develops policies for food service or nutritional programs to assist in health promotion and disease control
Plans, develops, implements and evaluates strategies for promoting and supporting breastfeeding
Creates and maintains a high performance environment characterized by positive leadership and a strong team orientation
Maintains responsibility for personal/professional continuing education to enable application of current professional practice
Serves as special formula expert
Qualifications Nutritionist 1
— Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management or a closely related field from an accredited college or university AND verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. Starting Salary: $41,923.38
Nutritionist 2
— Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management or a closely related field from an accredited college or university AND verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics AND two years of experience providing nutrition care to groups and individuals. Starting Salary: $46,115.72
Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with GA WIC program. Knowledge of the current government dietary guidelines. 3 or more years experience in conducting nutrition education sessions and nutrition counseling. Licensed Dietician
