As a Customer Service Representative I at the Ryan White HOPE Center in Macon Georgia, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals working to protect the health and well-being of communities across the state by supporting vital public health initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, a great schedule, and a healthy work-life balance, allowing you to grow your career while maintaining time for what matters most to you.
The Ryan White HOPE Center is a community health clinic dedicated to providing comprehensive care and support for people living with HIV/AIDS. As part of the federally funded Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program, the center offers medical services, case management, and essential support regardless of a client’s ability to pay. Services focus on helping clients get into and stay in care, access necessary treatment and medications, and improve overall health and quality of life. The Ryan White HOPE Center also provides education, referrals, and supportive resources to promote wellness and reduce barriers to care, serving a diverse clientele.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Provide outstanding customer service to the public, internal staff, and external customers
Answer incoming phone calls and respond to inquiries
Verify insurance coverage and eligibility
Schedule appointments efficiently
Enter data and process documents and records
Provide support to other health departments and programs within the district as needed
Respond to public health emergencies
Maintain compliance with HIPAA privacy and security standards
High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience communicating information in a customer service setting are required.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous employment with a state Department of Public Health or a County Board of Health
Associate degree or higher in Business Administration or a related field
One or more years of experience performing complex office or administrative duties
One or more years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite
Bilingual in Spanish and English
The DPH Commissioner and agency leaders encourage all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well-being.
The use of physical activity breaks during the workday is authorized to support this philosophy and help employees meet their wellness goals. A maximum of 30 minutes of physical activity may be allocated per workday, typically in the form of two 15-minute breaks or one 30-minute break.

DPH accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) as valid. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degrees, diplomas, licensures, and other relevant credentials.
