
The Sr Product Category Specialist is the strategic owner of Hosa’s product portfolio, responsible for evolving our catalog from a collection of parts into a cohesive suite of market-driven solutions aligned with key customer segments.
This role manages the full lifecycle of assigned categories—from assortment planning and pricing strategy to data integrity and end-of-life—ensuring the product mix drives profitable growth, protects dealer margins, and supports the ongoing evolution of the Hosa brand.
This is a high-impact role for an ambitious product marketer or merchant ready to take ownership of a major brand portfolio under the mentorship of the Marketing Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Own the performance of the full Hosa product portfolio (Cables, Adapters, Stage & Studio, Accessories) Actively manage portfolio financial health, assortment strategy, and market positioning Identify and execute growth opportunities through:
Expanding high-performing product lines Launching new products in unmet or emerging categories
Regularly review and rationalize SKUs to eliminate redundancies and improve assortment focus Develop and maintain application-based product tiering aligned to customer use cases Ensure all products on the roadmap solve clear customer problems Shift merchandising from spec-driven to solution- and workflow-based assortments Partner with Marketing to create bundled solutions and kits Monitor market trends and technology shifts to keep categories competitive Align assortment strategies to the needs of retail, e-commerce, and B2B partners Serve as a strategic partner to Sales online reviews and key account presentations Use data to demonstrate category performance, profitability, and growth opportunities Manage pricing recommendations to balance competitiveness and margin targets Optimize product packaging and pricing by sales channel Own product data accuracy and digital readiness across all platforms Ensure products support advanced filtering, configurators, and digital tools Align technical product information with brand and marketing messaging COMPETENCIES
2–4 years of experience in Category Management, Product Marketing, Merchandising, or a related analyst role Experience with hardlines or accessories preferred; strong understanding of attach rates and accessory-driven sales Demonstrated ability to move from task execution to category and portfolio ownership Ability to analyze sales performance and identify both growth drivers and underperforming products Strong analytical and data skills; proficiency with Excel and experience using ERP and PIM systems Comfortable working with large datasets to extract actionable insights Collaborative mindset with willingness to own detailed analysis while partnering on strategic direction
