Role Overview The Principal Sales Agronomist will be responsible for managing existing and attracting new customers within the sales territory, assisting customers with proper product selection and use based on agronomic needs, and maintaining and developing profitable customer relationships.
What You’ll Do in this Role
Drive territory success, making a significant impact on overall sales.
Manage existing and attract new customers within sales territory.
Identify new key customers, understand their business, determine their needs, and drive the team to achieve sales territory goals and growth.
Lead territory budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
Follow credit policies and manage risk for the company.
Develop the annual business plan to optimize growth and profitability for the territory.
Implement marketing and sales plans; meet sales goals; and network with industry representatives to expand sales opportunities.
Lead and supervise sales professionals, review work of others, and provide constructive feedback.
Confidently handle complex, unique sales challenges with minimal supervision.
What You Bring To The Role
7+ years of experience
Ability to conduct advanced negotiations and presentations to secure sales
Influence sales management to embrace new concepts, practices, and strategies
Deep working knowledge of local agricultural crops and market practices
Proficient working with MS Office Suite
Work independently with general oversight
Agronomy/Agribusiness degree

Compensation And Benefits
In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $95,700 - $134,120. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience.
This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
