Position Summary:
The Event Manager at Sewickley Heights Golf Club supports the planning, coordination, and execution of all member-hosted and club-sponsored events. This role upholds SHGC’s tradition of excellence, professionalism, and attention to detail, while preparing the individual for a future leadership position within the Food & Beverage and Events Department. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in planning and coordinating club events. Meet with members to finalize event details and preferences. Prepare and distribute BEOs, diagrams, and event schedules. Supervise room setup, décor, timelines, and service teams. Lead pre-event staff meetings. Maintain visible leadership during all events. Team Leadership & Training:
Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training banquet staff. Reinforce SHGC’s clubhouse etiquette and service standards. Promote teamwork, communication, and accountability. Administrative Responsibilities:
Assist with staff scheduling based on event volume. Monitor and track inventory of linens, décor, and supplies. Prepare post-event evaluations and attend weekly operations meetings. Support accurate billing and event financial documentation. Private Club Standards & Expectations:
Maintain a polished and professional appearance. Interact with members with warmth, discretion, and professionalism. Uphold SHGC confidentiality and behavioral standards. Qualifications:
Hospitality or private club experience preferred. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead, motivate, and support staff. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Familiarity with BEO systems and POS platforms preferred. Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Ability to perform event setup and breakdown tasks. Position Development:
